For those you not paying any attention to the suck bag Bruins… like myself… Nothing good has happened since you last saw them play. And in fact, the last time they did play… last night, they lost Marc Savard for a hefty stint due to this ravaging blind-sided head-crush by Pittsburgh’s Matt Cooke.
And yes… Coach Cloude was pissed. His comments (complimants of today’s Boston Herald):
“That’s probably the classic blind side hit to the head, and that’s exactly what we’re trying to get rid of,” said a visibly angry B’s coach Claude Julien after the game. “A guy like that has to be suspended, OK, and that’s the way I see it. That’s an elbow to the head from the blindside. That’s unacceptable.
“We don’t know how serious (the concussion) is yet. But he was out on the ice for a bit, and when you’re out, that’s serious. We have a guy who had a concussion, who’s our best player, and he’s going to be out for a while.”
Bruins defenseman Dennis Wideman added, “If it was Cooke, I’m not surprised.”
What an awful let down regular season hockey seems to be following this year’s Winter games…
