I really don’t care when it is, how cold out it is or how badly I am dying of plague, knowing that the Sox went out and threw six innings of (nearly, there was a walk) perfect ball makes my life better. Three perfect from Beckett, now much more comfortable throwing to Victor “the Cy Young Machine” Martinez, was followed by the Party bus combo of Paps, Oki and Ram-Ram (A), none of whom gave up so much as a single. Even Delcarmen (my vote for the first guy to get traded for anything) only gave up one hit, unfortunately it was a bomb.
Most importantly Beckett was happy with the way things felt out there, dropping the changeup a few times and keeping everything low in the zone. His relationship with Victor is getting better and he is seeing dollar signs every time he talks to John Lackey. This adds up to bad things for American League Hitters.
Iglesias (my new mancrush, no homo) added a three run shot to the party and there was even a Charlie Zink sighting. Sweet.
Go Sox.
Done.
